The price
At DDS, oil and gas boiler services start from €80. Around Drogheda, you'll generally see prices somewhere between that and €140, so it's worth asking what's included before you book.
Gas and oil services aren't the same job
An oil boiler has a burner that needs cleaning, a nozzle and filter that wear out, and an oil supply that needs checking. A gas boiler is a sealed unit, and in Ireland any work on it must be done by a Registered Gas Installer.
Both should finish with the boiler being tested to make sure it's burning cleanly and safely.
Why every year?
A boiler that's serviced every year uses less fuel, breaks down less often and lasts longer. Most manufacturers also need a yearly service to keep the warranty valid. It's a small cost next to a winter call-out or a new boiler.
When to book
